IFMR LEAD SUMMIT - GIS Session

This GIS module created for the IFMR-LEAD staff meet will go through the topics listed below. The session will require you to have QGIS installed, along with a set of plugins. Please refer to the ‘Installation’ page for instructions regarding the same.

Session Outline

• Recap – Last summit + Follow Up Session
• Sources of Spatial Data - and how to work with them.
• Workshop/ Exercises

• Converting IFMR project specific datasets to spatial formats
• Classifying data, Styling, Symbology & heatmaps -> Various kinds of map based outputs that can be produced
• Random Sampling of sites & Nearest Neighbor Analysis
• Automating tasks in QGIS (Batch Processing) - no coding required.
• Preparing a graphic for a report/ final presentation - Adding legends, scales etc.

• Linking STATA and QGIS (Requires stata commands to be installed. Please refer to ‘Installation’ )
